Tradepoint theme / documentation
Built for the parts counter.
A catalog-first Shopify theme for parts, tools, and specification-led products. This development candidate is not yet listed on the Theme Store.
Start with your catalog
Add products, unique variant SKUs, prices, images, and collections in Shopify. Configure the department menu in Content → Menus, then select it in the Trade header. The homepage introduction links directly to merchant-selected collections. Choose a collection in Workshop essentials.
Specifications and data sheets
Create product metafields in Settings → Custom data with namespace tradepoint: spec_summary (Single line text), specifications (JSON object whose keys are labels and values are short text), datasheet (File reference), and fitment (Single line text). Add the Technical specifications block to the product section. File-reference documents render as download links when Shopify supplies a file URL.
Catalog tables and filters
Collection pages have a table/grid switch. The table displays each product's selected or first available variant SKU, specification summary, price and availability. Open a product to choose a different variant. Native Shopify filters preserve pagination and sorting. Configure filters in Shopify Search & Discovery; metafield filters require a definition and product values. A model-family filter organizes merchant-supplied fitment labels; it does not validate equipment compatibility.
Quick orders
Paste up to 20 unique lines using SKU, quantity. SKUs may contain letters, numbers, underscore, period, colon, slash or hyphen. Quantities must be positive whole numbers. Find exact matches first, then review the products and quantities before adding. Ambiguous, unavailable, incomplete-search and quantity-rule failures are blocked. Products with more than 250 variants require selection on their product page. If an add request cannot be confirmed, check the cart before trying again.
Pricing and B2B
The theme displays Shopify's contextual variant prices, quantity rules, and quantity price breaks when Shopify provides them. Native B2B catalogs and company-specific pricing require an eligible Shopify plan and merchant configuration. The theme does not create price lists, tax exemptions, subscriptions, or arbitrary priced add-ons.
Cart and optional apps
Cart drawer and cart page preserve quantities, order notes, line properties and Shopify prices. Product, featured-product, cart-page and drawer sections accept compatible app blocks. The optional Starter Pack Suite can use eight theme style variables and full-cart update events; the theme functions independently and does not include the Suite subscription.
Brand, accessibility and updates
Use the theme's font and color settings and test contrast after changing colors. Add descriptive image alt text. Duplicate the theme before custom code changes or updates. Test search, product options, quantity rules, cart and checkout in an unpublished copy before publishing. No third-party app compatibility or every-browser acceptance is implied by a local test.
Support
For setup questions and theme defects, use the support form or email operations@steelyardventures.com. Include your store URL, theme version, affected page and reproduction steps. Never include passwords, payment details or customer records. Support targets a reply within two business days and prioritizes critical defects. Custom development and third-party services are outside included support.
